If you can answer yes to the following questions you are eligible to attend
- Do you live in the Princess Alexandra Health Services District?
- Are you willing to address and work on the issues that may assist in your recovery
- Are you willing to work with The Brook Red Centre peers on issues surrounding your recovery?
- Will you abide by group rules developed by the participants of The Brook RED Centre and follow the “Things to think about” while at the centre
- Respect for Property – Respect for Others – Responsibility for Your Actions
- Are you prepared to work with other services that Brook RED may hire from time to time (say, to help with Music or Art projects)?
- Are you willing to meet other people who have experienced mental health concerns?

People can be referred to the centre by GP's, Family, friends, Non Government Services or can self refer. People are encouraged to ring and make an appointment at the centre they are interested in accessing and arrange a time with one of the Peer Support Team to have a look around and discuss program/ activity areas of interest.
The costs vary depending on the activity that is being offered, however are kept to a minimum. For example to take part in the Peer Support Group a contribution of $2.00 will include a meal at the community lunch.
All participation is voluntary, people are able to observe the group and can participate when the time is right for them.
You can drop in, however, there are times scheduled around activities that are available for drop in.
You certainly can bring along a friend or family member, The Brook RED Centre acknowledges that starting something new can be challenging. Getting up the front stairs for the first can be a conquest in its own right. If you would feel more comfortable by bringing someone with you, you are more than welcome to do so, until such time that you feel more confident to attend on your own.
