South Brisbane Community

The Highgate Hill centre is currently not operating out of 25 Brook St.  We are offering support in the form of community catch-ups and groups in parks, cafes, and halls on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Thursdays we rotate between our favourite groups; Art, Recovery Monster and Inspiration group. Art looks like water colours, sketching and writing poems in pretty locations around South Brisbane. Recovery Monster is also hosted in parks around South Brisbane and we cover topics about mental health. Our Inspiration Group is finding inspiring things to do sound Brisbane, like museums, beaches and walks around leafy gardens.

We meet at Orleigh Park every Friday for either a lunch, BBQ or cakes and coffee. We have two locations we aim to meet and they are both covered seating areas near the toilets, playground and are located near the rowing club/dog park end of Orleigh Park (not the ferry terminal end). After the lunch we will walk along the river and we might even have time for a card game and individual chats.

Our Saturdays are a mix of exciting adventures from BBQs, coffee shops, op shopping, fish and chips at the beach and art galleries.

Community support may look a little different for the Highgate Hill centre at the moment, but we are still a vibrant bunch of people who enjoy laughs, big chats, supporting each other through change and the occasion game of five crowns.
